For almost two decades, Walid has been a pivotal force in technology across Egypt, Libya, and Sudan. Starting as a Systems Engineer in 2006 and advancing to a Business Solutions Architect in 2019, he has been instrumental in making Cisco a top networking company in Egypt and the wider region. Walid is known for crafting smart, outside-the-box solutions that consistently deliver real business value.
Walid’s impressive journey began after he finished Cairo University in 1996, following his earlier education at the German School in 1991. He honed his skills leading the networking team at Raya Integration and contributing to IBM Global Technology Services (GTS) before joining Cisco.
A significant part of Walid’s career is marked by his involvement in major national transformation projects in Egypt. Since 2002, he’s played a key role in modernizing largest governmental banks, critical government infrastructure, including the Ministries of Electricity, Communication, Finance, and Defense. He’s also been deeply involved in defining the technology for the New Administrative Capital, Smart Village, and numerous resorts in the Red Sea area. Walid’s broad expertise spans diverse sectors, including Smart Cities, IoT, oil and gas, manufacturing, education, and healthcare, always bringing fresh and innovative ideas to every challenge.
