Steve Harris is international subject matter expert, author and thought leader who serves as the executive director of education and business development for SCTE·ISBE. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the architecture and evolution of education programs, professional credentialing, and customized career progressions, as well as business development and partnerships for his organization.
His team designs and develops field and engineering educational programs aligned to SCTE·ISBE standards and CableLabs® specifications in key areas of DOCSIS, FTTH, Wi-Fi, IP routing, modular access network architectures (DAA), Ethernet, business, video, facilities, installation, IoT and security. The SCTE·ISBE education library is now 900+ modules with a dozen professional certifications, driving business results. As a practitioner, Steve has instructed much of this educational library internationally, having an enthusiastic and dynamic approach to the delivery of highly complex topics.
Prior to joining SCTE·ISBE in 2010, Steve led the development of customized technical learning programs for Comcast at a regional level, working in conjunction with corporate, national and local executives. In 2007, Steve won an excellence in learning and development award for his work in the industry while with Comcast. He has more than 30 years in education, having held prior positions with several colleges and universities.
